Glowing Dry Lakebed Las Vegas Elopement
My favorite thing about being a Las Vegas elopement photographer is how many of my clients travel from far and wide to get married in this wonderful city. Kristina and Jamie are precisely one of those couples.
These two are originally from Canada, but now live in Saudi Arabia. Kristina and I spent hours emailing back and forth, coordinating the timing for the elopement, and getting allllllll of my recommendations for the best vendors in Vegas. Because of COVID travel shutdowns, we actually didn’t know if they were going to be able to come to Vegas at all! Thankfully, they squeaked out of Saudi and safely into the States. As Kristina described it, their love was beautiful and messy, just like life! Through the ups and downs and intercontinental moves to be with each other, these two now make loving look so easy.
So we started their day at the Desert Rose Resort just south of the Las Vegas Strip. Krystyl and Keysha were getting Kristina prepped for her closeup, and Jamie was getting snazzed up in the other room. Even though these two technically, kinda-sorta, got ready together, I was lucky enough to capture the reaction as Jamie saw Kristina all dressed up in white. These mini-first look moments are so sweet and special, and even if you’ve been around each other all day, it’s still that first moment when…. excuse my French… but sh*t gets real!
The three of us went over to Fremont Street to dance and laugh and enjoy the sweet Las Vegas sunshine. Kristina told me that PDA is pretty taboo in Saudi, so they weren’t used to hugging and loving on each other so much in public. Welp. The marriage capital of the world has other ideas about that!
Soon, it was time to head out to the desert. We met up with Alex from Peachy Keen Unions in the middle of the El Dorado dry lakebed. If you’re looking for that classic desert, cracked earth look, this is the place to be.
As a side note, my brand new car, Fran the Forester, made her debut in my photos as Kristina exited the vehicle to marry her best friend.
