Moody Las Vegas Styled Elopement

This shoot was the birthplace of my side business, Las Vegas Styled Shoots, and I am SO grateful that this whole shabang happened. My dear friend Katelyn and I had the idea of bringing together Las Vegas wedding creatives to collaborate and create new content that everyone could use. Now, a year later, we’re hashtag thriving and loving all of the vendor connections we’ve been able to make over the past 12 months!

This dreamy shoot was a culmination of so many different pieces that ended up fitting together perfectly. I had purchased this dress with the goal of photographing it at some point, Katelyn knew this super cute couple that was down to model, I got in touch with the suit rental vendor that I had worked with all of once before, and we asked the florist and hair artists last-minute if they would be down to help out.

And the rest, as they say, is history!

But real talk: This shoot happened almost TOO easily. If it weren’t for the kindness and quickness from our amazing vendors, this shoot wouldn’t have happened so perfectly. Stacey from Roots has always been one of the most talented florists in the southern Nevada area, but as soon as she stepped up for this shoot, she really solidified herself as one of my favorite Las Vegas wedding florists. The same goes for our hair and makeup artist, Meg! She was quick on the draw and perfectly matched Kendra’s makeup to Stacey’s florals – all without the two comparing notes beforehand!

We wanted to have this shoot at the Seven Magic Mountains for that amazing contrast between the jewel tones of the dress and florals, and the brightly colored art behind the gorgeous couple. The best part about the Seven Magic Mountains is that there’s a dry lakebed around the corner, so you really get two locations in one here! I love starting these sessions at the art installation, moving over to the dry lakebed as we inch closer to sunset, and then heading back to the Seven Magic Mountains for those pretty dusky photos that you’ll see at the end.

As a quick aside, I just found out that the Seven Magic Mountains may be taken down at the end of 2021, so if you want your photos in front of this gorgeous art installation, don’t hesitate to get in touch soon!
