Spring Mountain Ranch Wedding Photos | Las Vegas Desert Wedding Photos

Nothing like making the most of a less-than-stellar situation! Jessie and Edwin got the short end of the stick with their wedding planning journey. They had planned their whole day to happen in March 2020, and just less than a week before their big day, everything shut all the way down. They said screw it and booked a quick little elopement at a local chapel that was thankfully still open. So they were still able to get married, and they didn’t have to delay the whole marriage aspect of their wedding! :)

My dear friend Katelyn asked me to help make their original elopement day extra special, so I tagged along with her to make them an elopement video encompassing their fun times with their closest friends. They postponed the whole wedding to the following year, but by the time that date rolled around, they still didn’t feel comfortable gathering all of their favorite people. So instead, Katelyn scheduled a day of fun portraits and asked me to tag along again! Their other vendors were able to create amazing florals and some super amazing hair and makeup, and it all came together so wonderfully!

We headed over to Spring Mountain Ranch to start their portrait session. This area was once the first working ranch in the Las Vegas Valley, and the trees on the property date back as old as 400 years. The area butts up right next to Red Rock Canyon, so it can sometimes be easy to confuse the two areas, but they’re equally beautiful. Since this side of the Las Vegas Valley is a bit higher in elevation, it often sees some really nice snowfall in the winter months, but we lucked out having a bright and sunny day!

Soon, we jetted over to Bonnie Springs, which is just south of the ranch, near Blue Diamond. This area was closed down in 2019 for some big fancy housing development, but there hasn’t been much progress on that since the panini started, so thankfully, we had the whole area to ourselves!

The wind picked up a bit as the sun glowed behind them, which ultimately created for some magical freakin’ photos. We spent some time dancing in the wind, and then these two headed off for a date night – it’s unclear if they went out in their wedding clothes haha! Congrats to these two for surviving a year of marriage in a panoramic, and thanks to Katelyn Faye Photography for having me tag along!
