Hi, friends! This month officially marks 13 years since I photographed my first wedding! That’s hard to believe, but what’s even crazier and more inspiring to me is how much I’ve grown since that July way back when. Whether you’ve known me for years or you’re just finding my work, I thought this was as good a time as any to look back on my life in photography and re-introduce myself to you all. Let’s do this!
My Background as a Las Vegas Elopement and Wedding Photographer
One thing that sets me apart from other photographers is that I hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in photojournalism. This means that from the beginning I have had concrete knowledge of composition, lighting, angles, and the science behind the art of photography. Combined with the decade-plus of experience, I feel just as comfortable at a two-person wedding at sunrise as I do documenting a 300-person cathedral ceremony.
Being a Las Vegas-based wedding and elopement photographer (who also travels the world for destination weddings and elopements) means I have tons of experience in environments of all kinds. From harsh midday sunlight during an Isle of Skye elopement to moody candlelit Las Vegas wedding venues and the glaring neon lights of elopement portraits on the Strip, every new challenge is an opportunity for me to find new, beautiful ways to bring in every element and photograph a masterpiece of you and your love in that moment, no matter what it looks like.
How I Make your Wedding or Elopement Magical
My modus operandi in every portrait session is “candid yet supported,” meaning I’m going to set you up to enjoy your day without feeling like you’re in a photo session, but I also won’t let a stray hair tie forgotten on a wrist mess up a beautiful moment. My role is to support you, align with your vendors, and make your day as seamless as I can, while also documenting every moment as it unfolds.
Every type of elopement and wedding is my jam; where my heart sings and my eyes well with tears at the love I feel between the two of you. I’ve photographed almost every type of religious ceremony, in every location you can imagine, showcasing every kind of love that exists. And I’ll continue to do so with the sole aim of giving you the gift of living in the moment on your wedding day and reliving every second when you flip through your heirloom photo album.
