The Doyle Las Vegas Wedding | Modern Downtown Las Vegas Wedding

2020 brought us a lot of things. One of those things was Josie and Reuben’s engagement.

I met Josie after stalking her on the internet – true story. We’re both in a Facebook group for Las Vegas residents who love a particular podcast. I posted in this group about needing some couples to model for one of the first Las Vegas Styled Shoots, and she volunteered herself and Reuben! The rest, as they say, is history. (Meaning I continued to stalk them until they booked me…. it’s fine)

“Yeah yeah yeah, give me the good stuff!” –You, probably.

While Reuben is a tried-and-true Las Vegas local, Josie moved all the way across the country from the east coast for her new job a few years back. The two met at a bar, and Josie knew pretty quickly that he was it!

“Jokingly I texted my sister that I was going to marry him after we met,” she said. “Our relationship progressed faster than our usual relationships, and everything felt right! So less than two years later here we are, engaged!”

Not only did they take no time in figuring out that they were soulmates, they also wasted no time in getting married! These two planned their entire wedding during the pandemic, and within a week or so, they had booked The Doyle for their Las Vegas wedding! Thankfully, they were also still able to have all their guests dance with them at their reception!

Even though The Doyle is a relatively new venue, it was born from a 1949 warehouse just near downtown Las Vegas. All of the natural light and converted space makes this venue super modern and easy-to-transform. It also helps that there are llamas and goats living on the property, so your photos will be nothing if not incredibly unique!

We started their day at The Doyle getting ready. Josie was able to have a sweet first look moment with her dad before we piled into my car and jetted down the street to the Smith Center. There, Josie and Reuben had their first look, exchanged letters, and shed lots of happy tears. We made the most incredible photos of them and their wedding party, and even got cheers from nearby construction workers!

Pretty soon, it was time to head back to The Doyle to cool off and prep for the ceremony. Guests were arriving and drinks were flowing, and before we knew it, it was time to say, “I do!”

The party truly did not stop all night long, and even though this Las Vegas wedding photographer has witnessed hundreds of weddings at this point, I still get so misty eyed when it’s time for the formal dances – and these ones were no exception!

After the year of 2020 causing so many postponements and event size limitations, I’m really grateful that I was able to experience a day as magical as this one. There are some events that really reignite the fire us wedding vendors have for our work. This event was one of those. Congrats to Josie and Reuben!
