Intimate Washington D.C. Wedding | 2941 Restaurant | Falls Church, VA

There is something so special about witnessing two people you’ve known for quite a while marry each other.

I first met Devin back in 2012 when we lived in the same freshman year dorm at Mizzou. A few years later, mine and Sasha’s paths crossed while working tirelessly at the student-run newspaper. Safe to say, journalism brought us all together, and while I’m not grateful for the student debt we all racked up, I’m grateful to know these humans.

Anyway, around June of 2020, it became pretty apparent that these two wouldn’t get to safely have their big wedding they had planned. They spent about two years engaged, so while it made sense to postpone the wedding, putting off the marriage wasn’t really an option anymore. So this Las Vegas wedding photographer packed her bags and headed to Washington D.C. to get these two married!

We started the day at their cozy apartment in Arlington for some “last moments engaged” photos with their two furbabes, Jetson and Juju. Then Sasha headed to the salon to get prepped, while Devin hung out at the hotel with his favorite guys. The two got dressed separately, each snuggled with their babies while all gussied up, and then it was time for the first look!

We jetted over to 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church, and right around this time is when Mother Nature decided to make it hella windy. But frankly, after six years of loving on each other, nothing could stop this ceremony from happening! Sasha and Devin said their heart-felt vows to each other, exchanged rings, and committed to a lifetime of love as the wind carried Sasha’s train into the air. This intimate wedding was nothing short of perfect. Then we toasted and enjoyed some incredible food and had a wonderful evening!

To make things even sweeter, this was my 100th wedding photographed! It was truly the perfect way to celebrate such a number.
