When you talk about a couple that does things on THEIR terms, Cathy and Evan might just be the blueprint! These two live in South Bay, California, have two of the CUTEST dogs, and constantly inspire me by doing things their way since day one. I can’t say enough how much I freaking love these two!!
Cathy and Evan met at a wine bar thanks to a mutual friend. When Evan asked definitely-only-a-little-intoxicated Cathy what she thought of his Tinder profile, she said she definitely wouldn’t swipe right! Then she gave him COVID, said “Peace!” and left for three straight weeks of travel and adventure. Sigh, isn’t she amazing?
After their whirlwind meet-cute, things moved along beautifully! At two months, they moved in together. In month three, they met the parents. And by month six? Wedding planning! They booked several of their vendors and locations before they even got officially engaged. Cathy dubbed herself a #fuancee (future fiancee) and gave Evan plenty of time to buy her a perfect engagement ring!
Their traditional Catholic wedding was reverant and beautiful, but one of my favorite parts was portraits under the Manhattan Pier. My other favorite part? The party bus with a stripper pole that took us from venue to venue! Heck yes!!
The reception venue was Los Verdes Golf Course and holy smokes was it beautiful! The sunset really put on a show when I stole Cathy and Evan away for some romantic portrait on the rolling grounds. We ate, we cut cake, the most perfect puppies on the planet got their own cake, and then, my other OTHER favorite part: party time!!! These two know how to get down!
Getting to photograph a SoCal wedding is such a fun getaway from the city I love so dearly (seriously, Vegas rocks) and I’m so thankful to Cathy and Evan for choosing me as their photographer!
