Downtown Fremont Street Las Vegas Elopement

Candace and Kevin have a decades-long love story that finally turned the next chapter.

These two met in high school and had that “will they / won’t they” vibe ever since.

“If you ask Kevin, he's had a crush for 20 years,” Candace said.

Their paths crossed again in 2020, and they quickly became inseparable. Funny how the universe knows exactly what you need when you need it! Between the two of them, they have 5 kids, so life is “a bit chaotic” in Candace’s words.

“We love doing basically everything together – cooking, trying new restaurants, golfing, watching football, dancing, karaoke – you name it, and we probably do it. Plus I love doing anything with him, he just makes life better.”

So immediately I knew these two were going to just be so joyful to be around, and as soon as I walked into their hotel room at the Linq, it was clear that they were so stoked for the night ahead of them. Candace told me they were treating this trip to Vegas as their vacation/honeymoon, so they wanted to hold their ceremony the first night they arrived. Because of the logistics with their local airport, they arrived to Vegas around 6 p.m., so we ended up having their ceremony around 10 p.m. Candace was worried that it may be too late, but Vegas is a 24-hour city, so time is never an issue!

We started the evening in their hotel room, getting them dressed and doing a fun reveal between the two of them before hitting the promenade between the Linq and the High Roller. This is honestly one of my most favorite places to photograph along The Strip because of how vibrant it is and how easy it is to get some amazing photos with that Ferris wheel in the background! I absolutely had to tell off a tourist who kept trying to photobomb this sweet couple, but hey, it’s all part of the job!

We jetted over to Fremont Street where we met up with Jacoba from Peachy Keen Unions to officiate their ceremony. Since we were in the middle of a parking lot in front of that amazing mural, we actually ended up having a few extra witnesses for their ceremony! They brought over some tequila shots after the two exchanged rings and smooches, and then the three of us boogied all around Fremont Street for some sweet photos! The amount of cheering that came from people passing by must have hit a record. That’s one of my favorite things about Vegas – the people you pass by are either locals, who love seeing people get married, or they’re tourists, who doubly love seeing people get married. It’s all around a joyful time!

If you’re obsessed with these vibes and are ready to plan your own Las Vegas elopement with your favorite photographer, get in touch! I can’t wait to boogie along Fremont Street with you!
