I was up way too late last night, stuck in a Reddit research rabbithole, when I came across a comment on a post asking about the cost of eloping in Vegas. Nobody was able to give a straight answer (for good reason!), but the comment that caught me was one that simply said “Get in touch with a photographer—they know all the things!” This is insanely accurate. As a photographer, I’ve been present for every step of an elopement day, seen nearly every venue in Las Vegas, worked with countless vendors, gone to all the outdoorsy spots, and performed full-on wedding coordinator duties for every type of elopement. Like Farmer’s Insurance said: I know a thing or two because I’ve seen a thing or two!

Elopements are uber-customized to each couple, with some hitting a drive-thru and grabbing a burger after and others going all-out with transportation, a venue, an Elvis impersonator or officiant, a reception, and more. While I hate not being able to give you a tidy answer, I can give you ballparks for each element of your typical elopement. Then, you can pick and choose what’s the most important thing!

Las Vegas Elopement Necessities: Venue, Photographer, Marriage License

Las Vegas elopement venues are actually quite affordable. For a simple ceremony at a chapel like Sure Thing or Little White Wedding Chapel, you can expect to pay roughly $100-200, plus a fee or additional tip for an officiant, and scale up from there if you wish. At an outdoor location, you may need a permit. These usually start around $100 but can be as much as $1,000 if the location requires you to use additional services. There are also a handful of free locations like Seven Magic Mountains or the dry lakebed. Marriage licenses from Clark County are $102 and can be issued the same day.

One of the most important pieces of your elopement will be your photographer. If possible, this should be where the majority of your budget is allocated.
