San Francisco Engagement Session | LGBTQ California Engagement

Talk about the sweetest sweeties that have ever sweeted.

Kelsey and McKenna came to me via their friends Julia and Casey, whose snowy beach elopement I photographed in South Lake Tahoe last year! McKenna proposed to Kelsey on a date at a Northern California winery, surrounded by their closest friends and family, and before we knew it, it was time to start planning a wedding!

These two jumped through entirely too many hoops to count as they booked their venue and date. With some venues becoming suddenly unavailable and others straight up ghosting them, it took a while, but fate has a funny way of always working things out. Once things were settled and ready to go for their November wedding, it was time to plan their early Spring engagement session in San Francisco!

This city has a special place in my heart, since it’s actually where I was born! I was beyond stoked to be working with such a sweet couple in such a fun city with unique backdrops! The thing about San Francisco is that you really do get it all here! From cityscapes to forests to beaches – there is no shortage of photo session location options! So we did what any photographer and engaged couple would do – we hit all of them!

We started in the historic Pacific Heights neighborhood, which gave us so many incredible city backdrops. We battled cars and skipped across busy streets, but you know – anything to get the photo, and then these two made me hike up an insane amount of steps on Lyon Street. I told them they should be fully aware of how much I love them, considering I was willingly walking up a huge hillside for them. We then jetted over to the Presidio Park to see Lovers Lane before ending up at their favorite view of the Golden Gate Bridge – Baker Beach. I convinced them to take a polar plunge at the end of the session, which, in my opinion, was SO worth it. But I’ll let you see for yourself!
