Take a Hike! | Red Rock Canyon Hiking Proposal

They say when you do what you love you'll never work a day in your life. As a certified career lover, I can tell you that is TRUE! There's no way I'd do half the crazy shenanigans I do for my couples otherwise. For Daniel’s proposal to Cali, he wanted to pop the question in the great outdoors under a wide open sky, so of course we headed out of town to nearby Red Rock Canyon. He planned to drop to one knee at the ultimate, scenic, sunset-filled spot along a 2.5 mile route. 

In order to create the perfect proposal shot, I first hiked the planned route (the Calico Tanks) with ALL my gear (feeling a lot like Bear Grylls if you get me) to be sure I could do the hike and get to my hidey spot in the first place. Then I tracked where the sun would be at the exact moment Daniel hits his mark and sent him pictures so he was completely prepared for Cali. Then, I did the whole hike AGAIN the day of the proposal so I could beat them to the special spot!

Let me tell ya: all this prep work would not have happened if I wasn't over-the-moon excited to help a couple create amazing memories and capture beautiful images while I'm at it. I love a good hike as much as the next girl, but cameras are HEAVY. Doing it twice in one week? I was t-i-r-e-d, but boy was it worth it for these sweethearts!
