Elope at Skaros Rock | Destination Elopement Photographer

Hey friends! It’s time to finally share about one of my FAVORITE destination elopement locations: Skaros Rock! Whether it’s full of sunshine or a cloudy day like this session, this location is breathtakingly beautiful. It’s one of those special spots that looks stunning in pictures, but to experience it in person is just surreal.

If you’re considering a getaway elopement in a beautiful place like Greece, Skaros Rock is a guaranteed win. Skaros Rock is located just below the village of Imerovigli, Santorini, in Greece. The caldera was once home to a castle and pier, both of which were destroyed due to time and natural disasters. However, the site remains full of a sense of history and old-world, timeless beauty.

This beautiful landmark is a popular hiking destination—moderately challenging but hike-able in just under two hours—my couple were absolute troopers for making the hike in full wedding attire and, yeah, it was totally worth it! The terraces of the village are filled with upscale boutiques, fine dining, and some of the best sunset views you’ll find. You won’t be short of things to do after our photoshoot!

Skaros Rock itself brings rugged beauty that’s a perfect contrast to your refined wedding look. The white stone structures and ocean views of the village give every photo the perfect exotic backdrop that only enhances your images instead of stealing the show. I was lucky enough to capture a few different sessions here, including this one and another that I’ll be sharing in the future!
